What CostToCool provides
We help you understand cooling capacity, electricity use and likely air conditioning costs. Our content is general information for consumers. The calculators turn your inputs and stated assumptions into estimates; they do not provide a guaranteed bill, product performance figure or installation specification.
Understanding calculator results
The calculator provides a planning estimate, not a building survey or a promise of exact consumption. Amongst others, weather, humidity, open doors, insulation, shading, electrical devices, the number of occupants and inverter cycling can change real use.
Before buying or installing, contact a qualified air conditioning installer to assess your property, confirm cooling needs and check equipment suitability and installation requirements. Do not base a purchase or installation solely on our estimates.
We do not guarantee that actual consumption or bills will match the results. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Cooling capacity in kW or BTU is different from electricity consumption. Efficiency labels and seasonal ratings do not guarantee the electricity a unit will use in a particular room or at a particular hour. A planned cooling recommendation is a starting point, not a professional heat-load survey.
Check your room details, equipment model and tariff before relying on a result. Where a default electricity price is shown, your own rate may differ. Standing charges, installation costs, maintenance and other charges are not included unless the result explicitly says they are.
Downloadable reports reflect the inputs and assumptions used when they were generated. They may become outdated as equipment, prices or your circumstances change.
Articles, product data and external sources
We aim to keep our information useful and accurate, but specifications, prices, rules and guidance can change. Check the original source where a decision depends on current requirements or product details. Report errors through our contact page so we can review them.
Where we use EPREL product information, it comes from the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling. CostToCool is not affiliated with or endorsed by the European Commission, equipment manufacturers or energy suppliers. A product appearing in a result is not a guarantee or endorsement.

Using the website fairly
You may use the calculators for your own planning, download your results and share links to our articles. Please do not misuse the contact form, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with the site’s operation or bypass access controls.
Our original text, design and software are protected by applicable intellectual property rights. Third-party material remains subject to its own rights and licences. Contact us before republishing substantial parts of our articles or using CostToCool branding in a way that implies our endorsement. These terms do not restrict uses permitted by law.
Availability and responsibility
We may maintain, update or change the website and its calculators. We cannot promise uninterrupted access or that every estimate will match real-world use.
